The Orb & Ozric Tentacles in Leeds

The Orb are a British electronic group formed in London in 1988 by Alex Paterson and Jimmy Cauty. They helped establish ambient house through spacious electronic music shaped by dub, samples and long-form composition. The albums The Orb’s Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and U.F.Orb, along with “Little Fluffy Clouds” and “Blue Room,” are central to their catalogue. The live album Live 93 drew on performances in Europe and Japan, documenting the group’s extended concert versions of its studio material. The following year, The Orb performed at Woodstock ’94 in New York.

Ozric Tentacles are an English instrumental rock band formed in 1983, known for psychedelic space rock built around guitar, synthesizers and electronic rhythms. Guitarist and composer Ed Wynne has remained the central member across albums including Pungent Effulgent, Erpland, Strangeitude and Jurassic Shift; “Eternal Wheel” and “Sploosh!” are among the group’s best-known tracks. The band took shape at Stonehenge Free Festival and spent its early years performing on Britain’s free-festival circuit, distributing self-released cassettes at shows. A 1991 performance at The Fridge in London was later issued as Live at the Fridge, while the group’s wider festival history includes Glastonbury Festival.
