Transvision Vamp were a British pop-rock band formed in London in 1986 by singer Wendy James and guitarist-songwriter Nick Christian Sayer. Their sharp-edged guitar pop became known through “I Want Your Love,” “Baby I Don’t Care” and “Tell That Girl to Shut Up,” while the albums Pop Art and Velveteen established their late-1980s sound. In the late 1980s, Transvision Vamp toured Britain and Australia behind Pop Art and Velveteen. Their concerts featured a full rock-band lineup, led vocally by Wendy James and on guitar by Nick Christian Sayer.
