About Turbonegro
Turbonegro are a Norwegian punk rock band formed in Oslo in 1989. They call their hard-edged, glam-tinged style “deathpunk” and are known for the albums Ass Cobra, Apocalypse Dudes and Scandinavian Leather, as well as songs including “The Age of Pamparius,” “Get It On” and “All My Friends Are Dead.”
Their 2002 reunion began with a performance at Quart Festival in Kristiansand, followed by touring in support of Scandinavian Leather and Party Animals. Tony Sylvester took over as lead singer in 2011 and debuted with the band at Welt-Turbojugend-Tage in Hamburg; subsequent shows featured material from Sexual Harassment and Rocknroll Machine.
Their concerts use a full rock-band lineup and a deliberately uniformed visual style. Coordinated denim, sailor caps and face paint have been recurring elements of the group’s stage presentation.
The Turbojugend network helped establish a strong concert audience in Germany, and the band has also played repeatedly across Norway.
