WHY? in Lakewood

WHY? is an American indie rock and alternative hip-hop project led by Cincinnati songwriter and rapper Yoni Wolf. It began as Wolf’s solo recording name before developing into a band around the album Elephant Eyelash. The group is known for albums including Alopecia and Eskimo Snow, and for songs such as “The Vowels Pt. 2,” “Good Friday” and “Fatalist Palmistry.” Wolf was also a co-founder of the Anticon collective and label. WHY? toured with a full band after Elephant Eyelash, bringing Wolf’s conversational rap and sung melodies to club and theatre stages. The group followed with concert dates behind Alopecia and performed at Coachella in 2008.
