Wings in Kuala Lumpur

Wings were a British-American rock band formed in 1971 by Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney and former Moody Blues member Denny Laine. They became known for albums including Band on the Run and Venus and Mars, as well as songs such as “Live and Let Die,” “Jet,” “Silly Love Songs” and “Mull of Kintyre.” The 1972 Wings University Tour took the new group into small British college halls, followed later that year by the Wings Over Europe tour. In 1975 and 1976, Wings mounted Wings Over the World; its North American arena concerts supplied the triple live album Wings over America and the concert film Rockshow. The band’s final concert took place in 1979 during the Concerts for the People of Kampuchea at London’s Hammersmith Odeon.
