About Would-Be-Goods
Would-Be-Goods are a British indie-pop group formed in London in 1987 by singer and songwriter Jessica Griffin. Their poised, guitar-led pop first appeared on the él label, and the debut album The Camera Loves Me established the group’s literate style through songs including “Cecil Beaton’s Scrapbook.” Later albums include Mondo, Brief Lives, Eventyr and The Dreaming.
The early Would-Be-Goods recordings began as a studio project, before Griffin assembled a performing band in the late 1990s. The group has since presented the catalogue in a full-band format, drawing on the long-running lineup of Griffin, guitarist Peter Momtchiloff, bassist Andy Warren and drummer Debbie Green.
