A Certain Ratio in Edinburgh

A Certain Ratio are an English band formed in Manchester in 1977. Their post-punk draws heavily on funk, disco and electronic dance music, a sound established on Factory Records releases including “Shack Up,” “Do the Du,” The Graveyard and the Ballroom and Sextet. In 1979, A Certain Ratio supported Talking Heads at London’s Electric Ballroom, and recordings from that performance formed the live half of The Graveyard and the Ballroom. In 2017, they marked their 40th anniversary with a concert later documented on ACR: Set, recorded at the O2 Ritz.
