Artists
A Place To Bury Strangers is an American noise-rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2002 by guitarist and singer Oliver Ackermann. Their music draws on shoegaze, post-punk and psychedelia, pairing dense guitar distortion with songs including “To Fix the Gash in Your Head” and “I Lived My Life to Stand in the Shadow of Your Heart.” Their principal albums include A Place to Bury Strangers, Exploding Head, Worship and Transfixiation. In 2008, the band opened for Nine Inch Nails on US arena dates. They performed at Coachella the following year, then maintained an extensive schedule of club, theatre and festival shows around successive album releases. Their concerts are full-band performances marked by high volume, strobe projections and Ackermann carrying his guitar into the audience. His effects pedals are made by the company and Brooklyn venue he co-founded, Death by Audio.
ADULT. is an American electronic duo formed in Detroit in 1998 by Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller. Their cold, abrasive electro and synth-punk became known through “Hand to Phone” and albums including Resuscitation, Anxiety Always and the collaborative Detroit House Guests. After releasing Resuscitation, ADULT. toured clubs in the United States and Europe, then brought the harder-edged material from Anxiety Always to further dates. The duo also performed at Coachella and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. The show is a duo performance: Nicola Kuperus sings and operates electronic equipment, while Adam Lee Miller handles synthesizers, electronic percussion and guitar.
