About Absolva
Absolva is an English heavy metal band formed in Manchester in 2012 by singer and guitarist Chris Appleton and drummer Martin McNee after Fury UK went on hiatus. Their melodic, guitar-led sound was introduced on the debut album Flames of Justice and developed across Anthems to the Dead, Never a Good Day to Die, Defiance and Side by Side.
Absolva joined Iced Earth for the European Worldwide Plagues Tour, then supported Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock and Y&T on further dates. The musicians have also recorded and toured as Blaze Bayley’s backing band, linking their own concerts to a long-running collaboration with the former Iron Maiden singer.
The band’s festival appearances have included Bloodstock Open Air and Hammerfest, as well as Wacken Open Air in Germany.
