Adrian Sherwood in Osaka

Adrian Sherwood is an English producer, remixer and founder of On-U Sound, the label through which he developed an experimental approach to dub, reggae and electronic music. His production work is closely associated with African Head Charge, Dub Syndicate, Tackhead and New Age Steppers, while his solo catalogue includes Never Trust a Hippy and Survival & Resistance. In 2011, Sherwood performed at On-U Sound’s 30th-anniversary concerts at Village Underground in London, alongside projects central to the label’s history. He later performed with Pinch as Sherwood & Pinch following the albums Late Night Endless and Man vs Sofa. His live dub show uses the mixing desk and effects units as instruments, reshaping recorded parts in real time. The UK edition of WOMAD and Japan’s Fuji Rock have both hosted this format.
