Adriana Calcanhotto in Lisbon

Adriana Calcanhotto is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Porto Alegre in 1965. Her work is rooted in MPB, samba and bossa nova, and her best-known recordings include “Esquadros,” “Vambora” and “Devolva-me.” Albums such as Senhas and Maritmo established her adult repertoire, while the Adriana Partimpim project brought songs including “Fico Assim Sem Você” to younger listeners. The 2000 live album Público documented her concert repertoire at the turn of the century. The shows built around O Micróbio do Samba later produced Multishow ao Vivo: Micróbio Vivo, recorded at Vivo Rio and released in 2012. In 2022, she took Só on tour as a solo voice-and-guitar performance. Outside Brazil, she has performed in London and Lisbon.
