After 7 is an American R&B and soul group formed in Indianapolis in 1987. Its self-titled debut album established the group through polished vocal harmonies, romantic ballads and new jack swing, led by songs including “Ready or Not,” “Can’t Stop” and “Heat of the Moment.” At its NPR Tiny Desk Concert, After 7 revisited “Ready or Not” and “Can’t Stop” in arrangements for three vocalists and a live band. Kevon Edmonds, Keith Mitchell and Danny McClain handled the group’s close vocal parts throughout the Tiny Desk set.

Jeffrey Osborne is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter and musician, born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1948. He first became known as the drummer and lead singer of L.T.D., whose recordings included “Love Ballad” and “(Every Time I Turn Around) Back in Love Again.” His solo catalog includes “On the Wings of Love,” “Stay with Me Tonight” and “You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song).” After leaving L.T.D. in 1980, he began performing as a solo headliner, carrying songs from the group into full-band sets centered on his own recordings. He has also appeared in the Men of Soul concert package with Peabo Bryson, Howard Hewett and Freddie Jackson.
