Artist
Akira Fuse is a Japanese singer and actor, born in Tokyo in 1947, whose repertoire spans kayōkyoku, pop and orchestral ballads. He is known for songs including “Cyclamen no Kahori,” which received the Japan Record Award, and “Kimi wa Bara yori Utsukushii.” He also sang “Shōnen yo,” an ending theme for Kamen Rider Hibiki. In 1967, Akira Fuse made his first appearance on NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen, beginning a long association with the year-end live broadcast. Alongside concert tours through Japanese theatres and civic halls, he returned to the program across several decades, including performances staged at NHK Hall.
