Alanis Morissette in Mount Pleasant

Alanis Morissette is a Canadian singer-songwriter born in Ottawa in 1974, known for alternative rock and pop. Her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill produced songs including “You Oughta Know,” “Ironic” and “Hand in My Pocket”; later albums include Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and Under Rug Swept. The Jagged Little Pill Tour took her into arenas during the mid-1990s, followed by an appearance at Woodstock ’99. She performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2012, a concert released as Live at Montreux 2012, and later revisited her breakthrough album on the Jagged Little Pill 25th Anniversary Tour. She has played most extensively in the United States and Canada. Her British arena dates have also included London’s O2 Arena.
