Albert Pla in Murcia

Albert Pla is a Spanish singer-songwriter and actor, born in Sabadell in 1966, who writes and performs in Catalan and Spanish. His songs pair folk, rock and rumba with darkly comic storytelling. He is known for albums including Ho sento molt and No sólo de rumba, as well as songs such as “La sequía” and his adaptation of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side,” “El lado más bestia de la vida.” Somiatruites brought Albert Pla together with pianist and composer Pascal Comelade for a staged musical collaboration. He later performed Guerra with Fermín Muguruza and Raül Refree, extending his concert work into theatre. Created with Judit Farrés, Miedo combined songs, spoken text and projected imagery in a single stage production.
