Alcest is a French band founded in 2000 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze by singer, guitarist and songwriter Neige. The group plays atmospheric black metal, shoegaze and post-rock, and is known for albums including Souvenirs d’un autre monde, Écailles de lune, Les Voyages de l’âme and Kodama. The Dead Ends of Europe tour in 2012 put Alcest on the road with Katatonia and Junius. Festival appearances have taken Alcest to Roadburn in Tilburg and Hellfest in Clisson.
