Alexander Marcus is the stage persona of German musician and entertainer Felix Rennefeld, who developed the character in Berlin during the 2000s. He calls his mix of electronic dance music, schlager and deadpan comedy “Electrolore”; the album Electrolore and songs including “Papaya,” “Hawaii Toast Song” and “Pitschi Pitschi Popo” established the act.

A concert at Berlin’s Columbiahalle provided the live centerpiece of the 2012 film Glanz & Gloria. The Robotus era later took Alexander Marcus to Wacken Open Air in 2019, where his choreographed pop show appeared before a heavy-metal festival audience; subsequent theatre and concert-hall dates were presented under the Pharao name.
