Artist
Alexandre Kantorow is a French classical pianist, born in Clermont-Ferrand in 1997. He became the first French pianist to win both First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. His recordings include the piano concertos of Saint-Saëns and solo works by Brahms. During the 2019 competition final in Moscow, Kantorow performed Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2. At the 2024 Olympic opening ceremony, he played Ravel’s “Jeux d’eau” at an outdoor piano in heavy rain in Paris.
