Alice In Chains in Birmingham

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1987, led in its early years by singer Layne Staley and guitarist-singer Jerry Cantrell. The band plays heavy, harmony-driven rock associated with grunge and metal. Its best-known work includes the albums Facelift, Dirt and Jar of Flies, and songs such as “Man in the Box,” “Rooster,” “Would?” and “Down in a Hole.” The 1991 North American Clash of the Titans tour placed Alice in Chains on an arena run with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. The band then headlined Lollapalooza in 1993 before recording MTV Unplugged at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 1996. After returning to concert work, the musicians began touring with William DuVall as co-lead vocalist in 2006. The band has performed far beyond its home city, appearing at Download Festival in England and Rock in Rio in Brazil.
