America in Bensalem

America is an American folk-rock band formed in London in 1970 by Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek. Close vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars shaped songs including “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” “Tin Man” and “Sister Golden Hair,” as well as the albums America, Homecoming and Hearts. After Dan Peek left in 1977, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell continued America as a touring band. A 1979 concert in New York’s Central Park was filmed and later released. Decades later, the two remaining founders toured with a full backing band on the 50th Anniversary Tour.
