Artists
American Football is an American emo and indie-rock band formed in Urbana, Illinois, in 1997 by Mike Kinsella, Steve Holmes and Steve Lamos. Their 1999 self-titled debut, built around intricate guitar lines and spacious arrangements, includes “Never Meant,” “Honestly?” and “Stay Home.” After an initial breakup, the band reunited and released two more self-titled albums in 2016 and 2019. The reunited American Football played the Pygmalion Festival in Champaign in 2014, followed by three concerts at Webster Hall in New York. In 2024, the band marked the debut album’s 25th anniversary by performing it in full on tour, including a London concert at the Roundhouse.
Tanukichan is the Oakland-based shoegaze and dream-pop project of American singer, songwriter and guitarist Hannah van Loon. Produced by Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi, the debut album Sundays introduced songs including “Lazy Love” and “Hunned Bandz”; the follow-up GIZMO pushed the project toward heavier guitar textures. After Sundays, Tanukichan opened for Kero Kero Bonito on a North American tour. She later performed as support for The Drums and Toro y Moi.
