Amy Speace in Stoke-on-Trent

Amy Speace is an American folk and Americana singer-songwriter born in Baltimore. After working as an actor in New York, she turned to songwriting and recorded albums including Songs for Bright Street, The Killer in Me, Land Like a Bird and How to Sleep in a Stormy Boat. Judy Collins recorded her song “The Weight of the World” and signed her to Wildflower Records. Amy Speace has performed at Glastonbury Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival. She has also played listening rooms and theatres in the United States and Britain, presenting her songs with voice and acoustic guitar, and her concert history includes the public-radio program Mountain Stage.
