Amythyst Kiah is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and banjo player from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her music draws on folk, blues, country and rock, and she is known for “Black Myself,” first recorded with Our Native Daughters for Songs of Our Native Daughters and later revisited on her solo album Wary + Strange. At the 2019 Newport Folk Festival, Amythyst Kiah performed as a member of Our Native Daughters. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2021, then opened selected North American dates for The Who in 2022 on The Who Hits Back! Tour.
Buffalo Nichols is the recording name of American blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Carl Nichols, who emerged from Milwaukee’s music scene. His self-titled 2021 debut and 2023 album The Fatalist place spare guitar arrangements and direct songwriting around songs including “Lost & Lonesome” and “Another Man.” Buffalo Nichols performed at the Newport Folk Festival in 2022 during a period that also included club and theatre dates opening for Drive-By Truckers.
