And Also the Trees are an English post-punk band formed in 1979 in Inkberrow, Worcestershire, by brothers Simon Huw Jones and Justin Jones. Their atmospheric guitar music and literary songwriting are represented by albums including Virus Meadow, The Millpond Years and Farewell to the Shade, as well as the early single “Shantell.” In 1981, And Also the Trees supported The Cure on a British tour. The band subsequently toured continental Europe repeatedly, making club and theatre concerts in France and Germany a substantial part of its live history. A Paris concert at Le Bataclan was issued as a live album.
