Andrew Dice Clay is an American stand-up comedian and actor, born in Brooklyn in 1957. He became known through the leather-jacketed “Diceman” persona, explicit insult comedy and profane rewrites of nursery rhymes. His recorded work includes Dice and The Day the Laughter Died, while his screen roles include The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, Blue Jasmine and A Star Is Born. The 1989 HBO special The Diceman Cometh documented the stage act that established his national profile. Rick Rubin then produced The Day the Laughter Died, recorded before a live audience at Dangerfield’s and released in 1990. That same year, Andrew Dice Clay became the first stand-up comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden on two consecutive nights.
