Andy Fairweather Low is a Welsh singer, guitarist and songwriter born in Ystrad Mynach in 1948. He first became known as the lead singer of Amen Corner, whose hits included “Bend Me, Shape Me” and “(If Paradise Is) Half as Nice.” His solo work produced “Wide Eyed and Legless,” while his later career included extensive work as a guitarist for Eric Clapton and Roger Waters. In 1984, Andy Fairweather Low joined Roger Waters for The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking tour. He played acoustic guitar and sang backing vocals for Eric Clapton’s MTV Unplugged performance in 1992, then joined the house band for the Concert for George at the Royal Albert Hall in 2002. He subsequently fronted Andy Fairweather Low & The Low Riders and returned to Waters’ band for The Wall Live.
