About Andy McKee
Andy McKee is an American acoustic guitarist and composer, born in Topeka, Kansas, in 1979. He plays instrumental fingerstyle music built around alternate tunings, two-handed tapping and percussive techniques. A performance video for “Drifting” brought his work to a wide online audience, while “Rylynn” and the album Art of Motion became central pieces of his catalogue.
At the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival at Toyota Park near Chicago, he performed “Drifting” as part of a major guitar showcase. His headline concerts center on solo steel-string acoustic guitar, and he also uses harp guitar in selected pieces. In 2012, he played arenas as a guest on Prince’s Welcome 2 Australia tour.
