Angry Samoans & MDC in Denver

MDC are an American hardcore punk band formed in Austin, Texas, in 1979 under the name The Stains. After moving to San Francisco, they adopted an acronym that has stood for several phrases, most notably Millions of Dead Cops. Their early catalogue includes the album Millions of Dead Cops and the songs “John Wayne Was a Nazi” and “Corporate Deathburger,” combining fast punk with lyrics about policing, war, capitalism and animal rights. In 1983 and 1984, MDC helped organize and perform at the Rock Against Reagan concerts, bringing hardcore bands into events built around direct political protest. Their subsequent touring reached Europe, and the live album Elvis in the Rhineland documents the band performing in Berlin.
