Anna Meredith in Cologne

Anna Meredith is a Scottish composer, producer and performer working across contemporary classical music, electronics and art pop. Her debut album Varmints, which includes “Nautilus,” received the Scottish Album of the Year Award, and she followed it with FIBS. In 2018, Anna Meredith and 59 Productions presented Five Telegrams, a work for orchestra, electronics and projected visuals, on the opening night of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. An outdoor version was subsequently staged outside Usher Hall for the opening of the Edinburgh International Festival. For performances of Varmints and FIBS, Anna Meredith leads a five-piece band featuring electronics and clarinet, cello, tuba, guitar and drums.
