ANOHNI in Rome

ANOHNI is an English-born singer, songwriter and visual artist, born in Chichester in 1971 and based in New York. She founded Antony and the Johnsons in 1998 and records chamber pop, art pop and experimental electronic music. Her best-known works include the album I Am a Bird Now, the song “Hope There’s Someone” and the solo albums Hopelessness and My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross. In 2011, Antony and the Johnsons performed with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra at DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen; the concert recording was released as Cut the World. The following year, she presented Swanlights at Radio City Music Hall in New York, singing with an orchestra amid laser work by Chris Levine.
