Anúna in Groningen

Anúna is an Irish choral ensemble founded in 1987 by composer Michael McGlynn. The group performs original choral music and arrangements based on medieval texts, sacred repertoire and traditional song. Its recordings include the albums Deep Dead Blue and Celtic Origins. At the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin’s Point Theatre, Anúna sang “Cloudsong” in the first performance of Riverdance. The choir joined the full stage production when it opened there in 1995 and stayed through its transfer to London’s Apollo Hammersmith before leaving in 1996. Anúna then resumed its own concert work and later toured Japan repeatedly.
