Art Garfunkel is an American singer, born in Queens, New York, in 1941. He is best known as the high tenor voice in Simon & Garfunkel, whose recordings include “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson” and “Bridge over Troubled Water.” His solo catalogue includes the albums Angel Clare and Breakaway, as well as “All I Know” and “Bright Eyes.” Simon & Garfunkel’s 1981 reunion concert in Central Park became a concert film and live album. Garfunkel later recorded the 1996 live album Across America at Ellis Island, then reunited with Paul Simon for the arena-scale Old Friends Tour.
