Asaf Avidan is an Israeli singer-songwriter, born in Jerusalem in 1980, whose music draws on folk, rock and blues. He first recorded with Asaf Avidan & the Mojos; their debut album, The Reckoning, included “Reckoning Song,” later reworked by Wankelmut as “One Day/Reckoning Song.” His solo albums include Different Pulses, Gold Shadow and The Study on Falling. The Back to Basics tour presented Avidan alone, switching among instruments and using loops to construct the arrangements onstage.
