Asia in Orillia

Asia is a British rock band formed in London in 1981 by John Wetton, Steve Howe, Geoff Downes and Carl Palmer, musicians previously associated with King Crimson, Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The band plays melodic arena rock rooted in progressive rock, and its self-titled debut album produced “Heat of the Moment” and “Only Time Will Tell.” The band toured North American arenas in 1982 following the release of its debut. In 1983, the Asia in Asia concert at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan featured Greg Lake on lead vocals during John Wetton’s brief absence. Wetton, Howe, Downes and Palmer reunited in 2006 for a 25th-anniversary tour, and the original quartet toured behind XXX in 2012.
