About Asian Dub Foundation
Asian Dub Foundation is a British band formed in London in 1993. The group plays politically charged dub and electronic rock driven by jungle and drum-and-bass rhythms, rap vocals and punk guitar. Its best-known records include Rafi’s Revenge and Community Music, while “Naxalite” and “Fortress Europe” became key songs in its catalogue.
In 1998, Asian Dub Foundation opened for Beastie Boys on a North American tour. The group later developed a live score for Mathieu Kassovitz’s film La Haine, performed in sync with the screening. The project premiered at the Barbican Centre in 2001 and was subsequently revived for further presentations of La Haine.
