Artist
Aterciopelados are a Colombian alternative-rock band formed in Bogotá in 1992 by singer and guitarist Andrea Echeverri and bassist Héctor Buitrago. Their rock en español catalogue includes the album El Dorado and songs such as “Bolero falaz,” “Florecita rockera,” “Baracunatana” and “El estuche.” The 2016 live album and concert film Reluciente, Rechinante y Aterciopelado revisited their catalogue in performances featuring guests including León Larregui and Goyo. Aterciopelados followed it with an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert in Washington in 2018, playing a compact full-band set. In 2023, they performed at Coachella in Indio.
