Atom String Quartet in Pforzheim

Atom String Quartet is a Polish jazz string quartet formed in Warsaw in 2010 by violinists Dawid Lubowicz and Mateusz Smoczyński, violist Michał Zaborski and cellist Krzysztof Lenczowski. The ensemble applies improvisation and contemporary chamber-music techniques to original compositions, documented on albums including Fade In, Places and AtomSphere; Seifert draws on the music of violinist Zbigniew Seifert. Atom String Quartet has performed at Jazz Jamboree and Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, presenting its compositions and improvisations in a festival setting. The ensemble has also given concert performances with pianist Leszek Możdżer while retaining its two-violin, viola and cello lineup.
