Musiq, also known as Musiq Soulchild, is an American R&B and neo-soul singer-songwriter born Taalib Johnson in Philadelphia in 1977. His debut album, Aijuswanaseing, introduced songs including “Just Friends (Sunny)” and “Love,” while Juslisen produced “Halfcrazy” and “Dontchange.” Musiq Soulchild toured the United States in 2017 on the Nu Soul Revival Tour, which also featured Lyfe Jennings, Kindred the Family Soul and Avery*Sunshine. In 2023, he returned to arenas as a special guest of Kem and Ledisi on the Soul II Soul Tour.
Donell Jones is an American R&B singer, songwriter and producer born in Chicago in 1973. He is known for the album Where I Wanna Be and songs including “U Know What’s Up,” “Where I Wanna Be” and “You Know That I Love You,” as well as his recording of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet.” Donell Jones performed at the Giants of R&B concert at OVO Arena Wembley in London as part of a multi-artist lineup devoted to 1990s and 2000s R&B. For NPR’s Tiny Desk, he sang “U Know What’s Up,” “Where I Wanna Be” and “Knocks Me Off My Feet” with a live band at the network’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
