Average White Band in Jackson

Average White Band is a Scottish funk and soul group formed in London in 1972. The band is best known for the instrumental “Pick Up the Pieces,” alongside songs including “Cut the Cake” and “Let’s Go Round Again,” and for the albums AWB and Cut the Cake. In 1973, Average White Band opened for Eric Clapton at his comeback concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre. The live album Person to Person documented performances from the band’s 1976 American tour, while the 2024 UK farewell run, Let’s Go Round Again... One Last Time, included Royal Albert Hall.
