Balmorhea in Istanbul

Balmorhea is an American instrumental ensemble formed in Austin, Texas, in 2006 by Rob Lowe and Michael Muller. Its music draws on post-rock, ambient sound, acoustic folk and chamber composition, with piano and guitar at its core. The group is known for albums including Rivers Arms, All Is Wild, All Is Silent, Constellations and Stranger. Balmorhea have toured North America and Europe, performing their compositions in theatres, clubs and festivals. The concert lineup has expanded the founders’ piano-and-guitar partnership through strings, percussion and additional guitars; that ensemble format was also documented in the group’s Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music, built around music by Rob Lowe and Michael Muller.
