The Band Of Heathens is an American roots-rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2005 around singer-songwriters Ed Jurdi, Gordy Quist and Colin Brooks. Its music draws on Americana, country, blues and Southern rock, and its best-known recordings include “Hurricane” and the albums Duende, Stranger and Simple Things. A weekly residency at Momo’s established the group as a live act, as its founding songwriters traded lead vocals and original material before expanding the lineup. The early release Live from Momo’s documented those performances, followed by another concert recording, Live at Antone’s.
Vincent Neil Emerson is an American singer-songwriter from East Texas whose country and folk songs draw on family, life on the road and his Choctaw-Apache heritage. His albums include Fried Chicken & Evil Women, the Rodney Crowell-produced Vincent Neil Emerson and The Golden Crystal Kingdom, produced by Shooter Jennings. Vincent Neil Emerson has taken his narrative songwriting to clubs and theatres on tours supporting Colter Wall and Charley Crockett.
