Banda Machos in Temecula

Banda Machos is a Mexican technobanda group formed in 1990 in Villa Corona, Jalisco. Its brass-led regional Mexican dance music became closely associated with the quebradita movement of the 1990s. The band is known for songs including “La Culebra,” “Al Gato y al Ratón” and “Un Indio Quiere Llorar,” as well as the album Sangre de Indio. The group performed at the White House during Bill Clinton’s presidency, a notable appearance beyond its usual concert circuit. Banda Machos has also toured extensively on both sides of the border, playing dance halls, theatres, fairs and regional Mexican festivals across Mexico and the United States.

Ezequiel Peña is a Mexican regional music singer from San José del Valle, Nayarit, whose repertoire includes ranchera, mariachi and banda. He sang with Banda Vallarta Show before recording as a solo artist, and songs associated with him include “Yo Vendo Unos Ojos Negros” and “Esa Chica Me Vacila.” His charro image also led to the billing El Charro de México. Ezequiel Peña has long performed at jaripeos in Mexico and the United States, bringing his regional Mexican catalogue to events where equestrian display is part of the program. At these appearances, Ezequiel Peña enters on horseback in charro dress, then performs rancheras backed by mariachi or banda.
