Bára Basiková in Prague

Bára Basiková is a Czech singer and actress born in 1963. She began singing with Precedens in the 1980s, appearing on the albums Doba ledová and Věž z písku, and also recorded the albums Stromboli and Shutdown with Michal Pavlíček’s band Stromboli. Her solo catalogue began with Bára Basiková in 1991 and includes Viktorie královská, Gregoriana and Tak jinak. She received the Female Singer of the Year award in 1991. Her theatre work has included Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Joan of Arc in Johanka z Arku and the title role in Kleopatra. In 2012, she joined Precedens for the band’s 30th-anniversary concerts in Brno, Karlovy Vary and Prague.
