Barbatuques in Córdoba

Barbatuques is a Brazilian body-percussion ensemble founded in São Paulo in 1995 by musician Fernando Barba. The group builds music from voices, claps, finger snaps, footsteps and other sounds made by the body. Its best-known work includes “Baianá,” the albums Corpo do Som and O Seguinte É Esse, and “Beautiful Creatures” from the film Rio 2. At the closing ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Barbatuques performed “Baianá” through the vocal and body-percussion format developed in its concerts, bringing the ensemble’s stage method into the Maracanã.
