Bebel Gilberto is a Brazilian singer born in New York in 1966 and raised in Rio de Janeiro. She is known for bossa nova shaped by electronic pop, particularly the album Tanto Tempo and songs including “Aganjú,” “So Nice (Summer Samba)” and “Momento.” At nine, Bebel Gilberto made her stage debut at Carnegie Hall, appearing with her mother, Miúcha, and saxophonist Stan Getz. The success of Tanto Tempo was followed by international touring, and her later concert history included the Hollywood Bowl and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
