Begonia is the solo project of Canadian singer and songwriter Alexa Dirks, a Winnipeg artist who previously sang with the vocal group Chic Gamine. Her music draws on indie pop, soul and R&B, led by a powerful, flexible voice. She introduced the project with the EP Lady in Mind, followed by the albums Fear and Powder Blue. In 2023, Begonia toured North America behind Powder Blue, performing with a live band in clubs and theatres. Her festival history includes SXSW in Austin, The Great Escape in Brighton and Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
