Ben Williams is an American jazz bassist and composer, born in Washington, D.C., in 1984. He won the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition and is known for modern jazz rooted in hard bop and soul, documented on albums including State of Art, Coming of Age and I Am a Man.

NPR Music featured Williams leading his own ensemble in a Tiny Desk Concert early in his recording career. Pat Metheny recruited him for the Unity Band in 2012, beginning an international run that expanded into the Pat Metheny Unity Group and its concerts supporting Kin.
