Berliner Philharmoniker Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

Berliner Philharmoniker is a German symphony orchestra founded in Berlin in 1882. It is known for its work with chief conductors including Wilhelm Furtwängler, Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado and Simon Rattle, and for recordings such as Karajan’s complete cycles of Beethoven’s symphonies.

In 1955, Karajan led the orchestra on its first tour of the United States. Eight years later, it opened its permanent home, the Philharmonie, with Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony; in 1984, it began its annual end-of-season open-air concerts at the Waldbühne.

The orchestra performed at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall during its tours of Japan. It also returned repeatedly to Carnegie Hall in New York on visits to the United States.
