About BERWYN
BERWYN is a Trinidadian rapper, singer, songwriter and producer based in London. His music draws on hip-hop, R&B and piano-led soul, and his autobiographical writing shaped the mixtapes DEMOTAPE/VEGA and TAPE 2/FOMALHAUT, both shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. His debut album WHO AM I includes the songs “I AM BLACK” and “DEAR IMMIGRATION.”
At the 2021 Mercury Prize ceremony at Eventim Apollo, he performed “GLORY” at the piano. The following year he took his catalogue to a festival audience at Glastonbury Festival.
