Beth Orton in The City of Brighton and Hove

Beth Orton is an English singer-songwriter, born in East Dereham, Norfolk, in 1970, who makes folk-rooted alternative music shaped by electronic production. She is known for the albums Trailer Park and Central Reservation, the songs “She Cries Your Name” and “Stolen Car,” and her vocals on the Chemical Brothers tracks “Alive Alone” and “Where Do I Begin.” Later records include Daybreaker and Weather Alive. Beth Orton performed on the travelling Lilith Fair in the 1990s during her early concert work in North America. In 2022 she toured behind Weather Alive, playing theatres and clubs in Britain and the United States; her festival history also includes Glastonbury Festival.
